I think people should always take everything with a big grain of salt and try not to get too attached or hopeful before actually meeting the other in person and spending time together beyond the internet. So I can definitely imagine some people caving to it, future-faking and so on.I've never really been put to the test with that sort of thing, so honestly not sure how well my own integrity would hold up.So just be wary of us insecure, flaky weirdos, as we do exist, and take things very slowly, wait until meeting in person and spending time together before getting attached or excited, to decrease the risk of winding up disappointed and mad. Most of my experiences with long distance e-relationships did not end well so I am probably not the best person to ask.
